On 29 June 2011 Nick put down his pen; took off his gown and wig; and turning his hand to cycling for a very good cause! The reason for this immense challenge was to raise much needed funds for children's charity Hope4Kidz.
Facing the ultimate trial he cycled from the leaning tower of Pisa in Italy, through the Alps, to the Eiffel tower in Paris, before crossing the Channel and then onto London Tower Bridge before cycling up to Blackpool Tower and finally ending up at the Clock Tower in Morecambe on 11 July 2011. It was a journey of over 2,600 kilometres and with eleven continuous days in the saddle he was leaning equally as much as the tower of Pisa by the end!
Nick managed to raise over £9000.00 for his chosen charities!
Nick’s chosen charity of Hope 4 Kidz helps children and young people suffering from a physical or mental disability, the relief of sickness, the relief of poverty and the advancement of education, for information about Hope4Kidz log on to www.hope4kidz.org.uk.
